Animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been riding horses for over 30 years, and today my husband and I share our lives with quite the crew: Nigel, our sassy horse; Indy, a retired racing Greyhound; Axle, our loyal Labrador; and Daisy, our spunky Lhasa Apso.
My journey into bodywork began with Nigel—my why. Nigel is funny, a little too clever at times, and full of heart. Even when his body wasn’t feeling its best, he never stopped trying. Learning to recognize and ease that tension showed me how powerful bodywork can be and inspired me to learn everything I could to help not just Nigel, but other horses and dogs feel their best.
I am currently an Advanced Masterson Method® Fieldwork Student. The Masterson Method is a unique, interactive approach to equine bodywork, where practitioners follow the horse’s subtle responses to gentle touch and movement. By listening to the horse’s feedback, tension can be released in key junctions of the body that most affect comfort, mobility, and performance.
I am also certified in Equine Sports Massage Therapy (December 2022) and Canine Sports Massage Therapy(February 2023) through hands-on training with Therasage EMC. To further support healing and wellness, I have incorporated complementary modalities into my practice:
At the heart of my practice is listening to the animal. Every yawn, stretch, lick, chew, sigh, or soft eye tells me when I’ve made a difference. Through Balanced By Nature Massage, my mission is simple: to enhance your animal’s comfort, performance, and quality of life in a safe, compassionate, and professional way.
This is my go-to treatment, using my hands to locate and release areas of tension in the body. Sessions typically last an hour.
This rehabilitative technique is designed to enhance the body's natural healing process by decreasing inflammation, aiding in normal blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Kinesiology Taping can also be used to support joints, tendons and ligaments.
Laser therapy works in a targeted area with limited depth of penetration. This therapy has been shown to decrease healing time from tendon and ligament injuries, speed wound healing, and provide relief to horses experiencing chronic pain such as arthritis.
This treatment is an excellent complement to hands-on bodywork. It improves microcirculation, promotes healing, supports regeneration, and speeds recovery. The BEMER blanket can reduce muscular back pain in horses. It enhances physical performance and suppleness during training or when preparing for competitions. BEMER can help your horse relax before and after exertion. It can also provide valuable support while healing, including recovery from tendon/ligament/muscle injury.
Help your horse to relax and unwind muscles from the extra work and stress they may be subjected to at a show. This session tends to run 30 minutes. Check with me for availability!

As a rider, I have found this modality very effective in easing lower back pain as well as a support for proper posture (shoulders back!).
